I walk the streets that I know so well

Every corner I pass has a story to tell

The park where me and my friends used to meet

Secretly smoking in the summer heat
First kiss, first treason, utter agony and joy
Last time that someone has called me boy

My hometown, my playground, my place of mischief

My cradle, my hideout, my source of relief

When life feels too much, and I'm feeling down,

I return to my haven, my old hometown

The church bells ring their old melodies

The graves below whisper elegies

Of friends and loved ones I once held dear

Memory`s a precious souvenir

My friends have wed, and they've built their own nests

I`m still on my own on my lonesome quest

They don’t recognize the man I became

For the choices I made no one else is to blame

I’m no longer the kid I used to be

Full of innocence and naivety

Now that I’m grown and roaming free

I’ve been hit hard by reality
